A Mad-Tea Party

A book I created for a typography class.

This hand-bound book contains a chapter from Lewis Carroll’s The Adventures of Alice in Wonderland, entitled “A Mad-Tea Party.” Using typography as a means of expressing a literary piece, I gave each character (including the narrator) their own typographic representation as implied by their personality, and set the copy in ways that were appropriate for its context. The final piece was expressive, chaotic and fun, with a Victorian touch.
