Virgin Mobile Free.I.P.
Winter 2009–Spring 2010
Virgin Mobile Free.I.P. is a volunteer rewards program that was launched to benefit nonprofits involved with teen homelessness. Participants were rewarded concert tickets for volunteering their time and effort toward this cause. We were approached to create an entire experience, from allowing on-site volunteer checkins, to verification codes provided by nonprofits to confirm the participation of volunteers, to a rewards system in which volunteers could thus claim their reward after their efforts were verified. I was specifically tasked with creating an experience that made volunteers feel like a rock star. The site is now defunct.

Causecast.com
Summer 2009
Causecast once offered cause-based agency services, but needed a way to advertise this. Up until this point, the only public-facing site that was available was Causecast.org, which was a portal for nonprofits to manage their volunteer opportunities and campaigns. Causecast needed a brochureware site that advertised its services; thus, Causecast.com was born. The look was to be impacting and the information easy to digest.

Schenone Furniture
Summer 2009
A furniture designer by hobby, Garrett Schenone approached me for a website design that would showcase his furniture in an elegant yet simple manner. In designing the site, I made sure his furniture became the central visual focus for users. I designed and coded the website, and also created his logo, featuring his signature dowel.
Roles: Art Direction, UX, Visual Design, HTML/CSS.
Employee Impact Platform
Summer 2011–Present
Causecast's latest product is the Employee Impact Platform, a streamlined, web-based system for companies to help their employees engage in volunteering and donation. The platform was a very large product-driven project that was immensely complex in functionality; it included a dashboard system for an employee, as well as a dashboard system for an administrator. I established the art direction and worked on the visual design, taking into consideration that any color on the system must be customized on a per-company basis, and that the platform must adapt to whatever features the client may or may not want to include. I also designed the mobile version of the platform experience, to be viewed in any phone's browser.
Roles: Art Direction, some UX, Visual Design.
Salute To Service
Fall 2010
Causecast partnered up with the Academy of Country Music to create a campaign that centered around Veterans Day. This campaign would feature veteran-related nonprofits and present related volunteer opportunities to the user.

A poster that presented a conference featuring women in design in the Los Angeles area. The poster uses 5 spot colors and measured 11" × 17".

Causecast.org - Nonprofit Dashboard
Spring 2011
Causecast's nonprofit dashboard is an incredibly full-featured product; it allows nonprofits to manage volunteer events and participants, donations, and much more. I was tasked with establishing the visual design for the dashboard, based on the art direction of the public-facing nonprofit site established by another designer. The dashboard matched the branding of the site to a T. I also was tasked with creating the UX and visual design for the volunteer event management feature of the site.

Skills For America's Future
Summer 2010
The Aspen Institute approached Causecast for a logo for a new program they were launching, “Skills For America's Future." President Obama was to present this new initiative in a few days’ time, so I was tasked with conceptualizing and creating a logo within a couple days' time. The logo was unveiled on their website, following President Obama's announcement.
Roles: Concept, Logo Design
Fair Just Tastes Better
Spring 2012
The task was to create an advertisement that depicted a side to an issue. I chose to represent Fair Trade products. The final product was to be a black and white, full-page ad in the LA Times that measured 10" × 21.5". My photography direction, layout design, information hierarchy, and typographic choices earned this piece a spot in the EMERGE design exhibition in Los Angeles in 2012.

A Mad-Tea Party
Spring 2010
This hand-bound book contains a chapter from Lewis Carroll’s The Adventures of Alice in Wonderland, entitled “A Mad-Tea Party.” Using typography as a means of expressing a literary piece, I gave each character (including the narrator) their own typographic representation as implied by their personality, and set the copy in ways that were appropriate for its context. The final piece was expressive, chaotic and fun, with a Victorian touch.
Roles: Book Binding, Page & Layout Design, Typographic Design
